Our special projects
Research and experimentation are among the main missions of the Civic Museum of Modena. The projects that involve the scientific community, institutions, private businesses, and citizens and that are carried out locally, nationally and internationally are strategic. They are open, diverse and are designed to enhance and promote the cultural heritage of the Museum, the city and the surrounding area.

International networks – ICOM, NEMO, EXARC
The Civic Museum actively participates in three international networks with which it exchanges ideas on common topics regarding the mission, planning and the challenges that in today’s world museums are called upon to confront.
The Museum has been an institutional member of ICOM (International Council of Museums) since 2015, actively participating in national and international conferences, seminars and activities promoted by the association.
Since 2014, the Museum has been a member of NEMO (Network of European Museum Organisations) and takes part in conferences, educational development and international projects organised by the network.
The Terramara di Montale Archaeological Park of Montale has been part of a European dimension since its earliest planning phase and has developed synergy with important international open-air archaeological museums through collaboration with the network EXARC, of which it has been a member since 2004.
