Autumn at the Terramara Park of Montale
The Montale Park is a very special open-air museum, where it is possible to observe the traces of a terramara as if it had just been discovered, to enter houses reconstructed on the basis of archaeological excavations, to attend demonstrations of ancient craft techniques and to discover research methods directly from specialists, and in particular for children to participate in themed workshops to learn about the world of terramares.
From 10 September to 26 November, with four appointments added to the usual autumn calendar, every Sunday and public holidays the staff of Terramara archaeologists welcome visitors for guided tours of the archaeological site and the full-scale reconstruction of two furnished dwellings, combined with different presentations and activities each week, capable of engaging all types of audiences. And it is precisely in order to meet the needs of the public that this year the Park chooses to extend the opening until the end of November, after having taken up the requests of visitors in the face of a general improvement in the weather conditions during the autumn, as has been the case in recent years.
